Vice President Jiafu Wang of Sichuan University of Media and Communications Visits USJ In-Depth Exchange on AI FILM Collaboration




San Jose, California — January 26, 2026  — On January 26, a delegation led by Vice President Jiafu Wang from  Sichuan University of Media and Communications paid a visit to  University of San Jose (USJ) . The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Claude Wang, Founder and President of USJ. The visit featured a focused exchange on potential collaboration under the  Artificial Intelligence in Film initiative.




During the meeting, Dr. Wang presented USJ’s strategic vision and recent progress in AI-driven filmmaking, including generative visual technologies, intelligent content production pipelines, and AI Agent–assisted creative workflows. He highlighted USJ’s interdisciplinary approach that integrates technology, art, and industry practice, emphasizing the importance of preparing future filmmakers for an AI-transformed creative economy.



Vice President Wang spoke highly of USJ’s forward-looking exploration at the intersection of AI and film. He noted that Sichuan University of Media and Communications has strong foundations in film, digital media, and content creation, and expressed strong interest in developing long-term cooperation with USJ. Potential areas discussed included joint curriculum development, faculty and student exchanges, co-established AI FILM laboratories, collaborative productions, and international dissemination of creative works.




Both sides agreed that collaboration between Chinese and U.S. universities in the AI FILM field holds significant promise. Taking the AI FILM project as a starting point, the two institutions plan to advance practical cooperation and explore innovative models that integrate  education, technology, and industry, fostering the cultivation of globally competitive, cross-disciplinary talent.




The visit further strengthened mutual understanding between the two universities and laid a solid foundation for future Sino–U.S. collaboration in artificial intelligence and film innovation.
